I've been exactly
where you are.

I moved to Australia on a working holiday visa 14 years ago with no plan to stay. I know what it's like to navigate a new country, a new tax system, and have no idea where to start. That's exactly why I built this.

"Nobody tells you how Australian tax works when you arrive. You just hope for the best. Or worse, you don't lodge at all. I built this to change that."

We don't just lodge. We look.

Most agents take what you give them and file. We actually go through your situation. Every line, every entitlement, every offset.

ATO Zone Tax Offset. Most agents miss this.

If you spent time living in a regional or remote area farm work in WA, mine sites in Queensland, hospitality in the Territory. the ATO owes you extra money. It's where you lived that counts, not where you worked. We check it on every single return.

Zone B $57
Zone A $338
Special $1,173

Work expenses

Tools, uniforms, kilometres, licences. Things people forget to claim. We go through all of it.

Medicare

Depending on your visa and where you're from, you may not owe it at all. Being charged when you shouldn't be is money you're entitled to back.

Residency status

How long you've been here, what visa you're on. All of it affects what you owe and what you get back.

Offsets you didn't know existed

Zone Tax Offset, low income offsets, foreign income. Every return is different. That's the point.

Who I am

I'm Yann.
I've been exactly where you are.

I moved to Melbourne 14 years ago straight after finishing my accounting degree in France. I wasn't planning to stay. I just wanted to see something different. One thing led to another. Australian citizen, married to a wonderful Australian woman, Melbourne is very much home.

I've worked across large tax firms and smaller boutique practices, and I now work as a Finance Partner. I've been through nearly every visa type Australia has : working holiday, student, de facto, and eventually permanent residency. So when clients tell me they're confused or stressed, I genuinely understand.

I started LeTaxReturn because I kept seeing expats leaving money on the table. I want to change that. One return at a time.

We've got answers.

Do I need to be in Melbourne to use this service?
Not at all. The service is 100% online. Whether you're in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, or anywhere else in Australia, I can handle your return.
What is the tax return deadline in Australia?
The standard deadline is 31 October each year. Using a registered tax agent like me typically gives you an automatic extension.
I arrived partway through the financial year. What happens?
No problem. You lodge a return for the period you were resident and working in Australia. I calculate everything on a pro-rata basis.
I work as a freelancer (ABN). Do you have a plan for me?
Yes, the Optimisation plan at $250 is designed for people with ABN income, mixed ABN and TFN revenues, or more complex situations.
Is my data secure?
Absolutely. Your information is handled confidentially and securely, in line with the obligations of a registered tax agent with the ATO.
Still in Australia?

Do this before you leave.

I handle everything remotely — ATO portal, super fund search, lodgement, bank transfer. But one thing only you can do, and it is much easier here than overseas.
